Airtel Customer Day 2026: 20,000 employees engage in direct customer feedback

Airtel recently observed its Customer Day 2026, an internal corporate initiative aimed at assessing consumer experiences and identifying service-related challenges. For the event, approximately 20,000 Airtel employees—ranging from functional specialists to executive leadership—temporarily shifted from traditional office roles to participate in direct field operations.

The primary objective of the initiative is to gather primary data on customer pain points by observing operations at the consumer level. During the event, corporate staff worked alongside frontline teams and engaged in several field activities, including:

  • Shadowing field engineers during service and installation calls.
  • Conducting visits to customer residences and local shops.
  • Interacting with consumers directly at Airtel retail stores and service centers.

According to the company, this feedback-gathering framework is a central component of its product and service development strategy. Airtel attributes several recent platform updates to insights gathered through direct customer listening.

These developments include the implementation of enhanced spam and fraud protection protocols, interface adjustments to the Airtel mobile application, and the broader rollout of AI-enabled service tools.

Airtel frames Customer Day not as an isolated event but as part of a standard operational strategy focused on continuous process optimization. The company states that the data and feedback collected during these field interactions are utilized to simplify internal procedures, resolve service friction, and inform ongoing business decisions.
