Lava Blaze Duo 3 with 6.67″ FHD+ 120Hz and 1.6″ dual AMOLED displays launched for Rs. 16999

Lava has launched the Lava Blaze Duo 3, a new smartphone that the company calls India’s first dual-screen smartphone in this price bracket, featuring a secondary AMOLED display on the rear panel.

Dual-Display Configuration

The primary differentiator for the Blaze Duo 3 is its 1.6-inch AMOLED rear display. This secondary screen is designed to offer functionality without unlocking the main device. Users can utilize the rear screen to view notifications, control music playback, and access distinct animations. Additionally, the rear display serves as a viewfinder, allowing users to take high-resolution selfies using the primary rear camera.

The main display is a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel featuring a 120Hz refresh rate, aimed at providing smooth visual transitions for media consumption and gaming.

Hardware and Performance

Under the hood, the Blaze Duo 3 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7060 chipset, clocked at 2.6GHz. The device comes with a unified memory configuration described as (6GB+6GB) LPDDR5 RAM, utilizing virtual RAM technology to aid multitasking, alongside 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Camera Specifications

For photography, the device is equipped with a dual-camera setup that includes a 50MP AI primary camera utilizing a Sony IMX752 sensor and an 8MP selfie camera.

The rear AMOLED screen allows the 50MP main sensor to be used for selfies, potentially offering higher quality than standard front-facing cameras.

Battery, Design, and Software

The smartphone is backed by a 5000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. In terms of connectivity and utility, it includes an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, an IR blaster, and a USB Type-C port.

The device features an ultra-slim profile of 7.55mm and is available in two color variants: Moonlight Black and Imperial Gold.

On the software front, the Blaze Duo 3 runs on a clean version of Android 15 with a promise of an Android 16 update and 2 years of security updates. Lava has emphasized a “bloatware-free” experience, devoid of ads and unwanted notifications. The company has committed to one Android OS upgrade and two years of security updates.
