Alongside the new Dell XPS lineup, Dell’s Alienware has unveiled a major CES 2026 gaming lineup featuring the flagship Area-51 laptops in 16-inch and 18-inch sizes, and the premium 16X Aurora ultra-slim notebook.
Expanding the Alienware Portfolio: Ultra-Slim and Entry-Class Laptops

Beyond the CES announcements, Alienware is planning its biggest portfolio expansion yet. Later this year, the company will be introducing two new product classes: an ultra-slim gaming laptop (~17mm thin) focused on performance density and design versatility, and a new entry-level gaming laptop that brings Alienware to a broader audience at the most accessible price point yet.
There isn’t much information shared by Dell yet. The ultra-slim model will be available in 14-inch and 16-inch variants, targeting users who want a balance between gaming, creative work, and portability, while the entry-level system is designed for first-time gaming laptop buyers without compromising on build quality, thermals, and performance.
Alienware Area-51 and 16X Aurora gaming laptops unveiled

The new Alienware 16 Area-51, Alienware 18 Area-51, and Alienware 16X Aurora gaming laptops are all powered by Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors paired with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50-series graphics. The flagship Area-51 models feature the new Alienware 30 design language with an anodized aluminum carapace in Liquid Teal, while the 16X Aurora gets an Interstellar Indigo finish and a more compact, mobile-focused design.

For the first time in Alienware gaming laptops, both the 16 Area-51 and 16X Aurora feature anti-glare OLED displays. These panels deliver a 240Hz refresh rate, 0.2ms response time, VESA HDR ClearMR 9000 certification, 120% DCI-P3 colour volume, and 620-nit HDR peak brightness, with a special anti-glare coating that reduces reflections by up to 32%.
The Area-51 laptops introduce the Cryo-Chamber thermal architecture, enabling up to 240W of gaming power on the 16-inch model and up to 280W on the 18-inch variant. Alienware says airflow is up by 35%, and acoustics are down by 15% compared to previous generations, thanks to the largest fans by volume to date, more copper in the thermal module, and vapour chamber cooling on configurations with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and higher.

The 16X Aurora is positioned as a portable gaming laptop at just 2.66kg starting weight and a slimmer 19.2mm front height, nearly 50% smaller in volume than the 16-inch Area-51 while still delivering serious gaming performance with RTX 50-series discrete graphics.
