CP PLUS, India’s leading video security brand, and Qualcomm Technologies, a provider of edge computing and AI solutions, have announced a collaboration to introduce AI-enabled video security solutions designed for industrial, institutional, public safety, and enterprise applications in India.
Abhishek Singh, DG NIC & Additional Secretary at MeitY and CEO of India AI Mission, highlighted that the collaboration between Qualcomm and CP PLUS represents a significant step in integrating advanced AI and edge-processing into India’s security sector. He noted that combining Qualcomm’s technological expertise with CP PLUS’ market presence could support Indian OEMs and advance the country’s broader AI objectives.
The collaboration integrates CP PLUS’ camera ecosystem and distribution network with Qualcomm Dragonwing processors and the Qualcomm® Insight Platform. The system uses edge boxes in CP PLUS’ Video Management System (VMS) to deliver real-time, on-device AI analytics for safety and monitoring use cases across industrial sites, enterprises, public infrastructure, institutions, and homes.
Edge AI and On-Premises Data Processing
The solution allows on-site video processing via edge AI, keeping data on premises to reduce exposure to external networks. This air-gapped architecture provides resilience for industrial and public safety environments.
The Qualcomm Insight Platform integrates advanced edge AI with CP PLUS cameras, delivering cloud or air-gapped on-site intelligence that reduces latency and server dependency while providing real-time alerts and notifications. A Generative AI Assistant based on LLM technology enables users to query and interpret complex events using natural language.
The platform supports monitoring applications including workforce management, logistics, access control, perimeter security, and facility safety.
Use Cases
The system can support:
- Identifying blocked pathways in public spaces
- Monitoring personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance at industrial sites
- Estimating crowd density in large venues
- Supporting timely response during high-risk situations
These capabilities allow organizations to use AI-based detection and real-time analytics to move from passive observation to informed decision-making.
Operational and Analytical Capabilities
The platform supports operational efficiency and business intelligence:
- Retailers can analyze footfall patterns and optimize store layouts
- Public venues can manage visitor flow efficiently
- Enterprises can automate audits using Merlin AI tools
AI-driven video search and summarization can identify key events quickly, and generative AI transforms raw footage into context-rich insights to support accurate decisions.
Technology Features
- Edge AI Processing: Reduces latency and server dependency
