Meta has finally launched the second generation of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses in India, soon after the launch of the Gen 1 model, with a focus on enhanced video capabilities, significantly improved battery performance, and an upgraded Meta AI experience.
Next-Generation Features for Modern Lifestyles
Building on the foundation of the original model, the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) glasses introduce several technical enhancements. The new model features sharper 3K Ultra HD video capture and ultrawide HDR for improved image and video quality.
The battery system has been substantially upgraded, offering up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge. The device supports fast charging, reaching 50% capacity in 20 minutes, while the accompanying charging case provides an additional 48 hours of power. Upcoming software updates are slated to introduce new capture modes, including hyperlapse and slow motion, further expanding the creative potential for users.
Refreshed Designs and Expanded Style Options

The Gen 2 glasses maintain the aesthetic of the iconic eyewear brand, launching in the classic Wayfarer style, alongside the modern Skyler and the popular Headliner styles. The new lineup also expands the color palette with seasonal additions such as Shiny Cosmic Blue, Shiny Mystic Violet, and Shiny Asteroid Grey.
Smarter, More Accessible Meta AI
The integrated Meta AI assistant has been refined to be more useful in daily scenarios. Users can initiate interaction by saying, “Hey Meta,” to quickly receive answers, recommendations, or creative prompts.
A key feature for the Indian market is the support for full Hindi interaction, allowing users to speak naturally to Meta AI for tasks like capturing photos and videos, controlling media playback, and responding to messages. Additionally, Conversation Focus is designed to enhance voice clarity in loud environments.
Celebrity AI Voice Integration
Meta AI recently introduced a Celebrity AI Voice feature, enabling conversational interaction with the assistant. In a local addition, users can now interact using the AI voice of actor Deepika Padukone. She joins Meta AI’s global lineup of recognizable celebrity voices available for the assistant.
Contactless Payments via UPI-Lite
A new feature that will soon be rolled out allows users to complete secure UPI QR-code payments directly from the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) glasses. By looking at a QR code and issuing the command, “Hey Meta, scan and pay,” users can complete a UPI Lite payment. Payments are processed via the user’s WhatsApp-linked bank account, aiming to streamline everyday transactions without requiring the user to take out their phone.
Pricing and availability
The Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) collection is being rolled out across the country through Ray-Ban India’s website and authorized optical and eyewear retailers, with entry-level pricing set at Rs. 39,900, and it goes up to Rs. 45,700.
