Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses launched in India


Meta has launched Ray-Ban smart glasses, created in partnership with EssilorLuxottica in India, after teasing it last month. Unveiled back in 2023 as an evolution of the earlier Ray-Ban Stories, this integrates Meta AI and a range of functionalities designed to offer a hands-free connected experience.

Users can interact with the glasses through voice commands, utilizing the integrated Meta AI for various tasks.

Key features include the ability to get information on the fly, control music and podcasts, and capture photos and videos from a first-person perspective. The glasses feature built-in speakers for audio playback and microphones for calls and voice commands.

There is a 12 MP camera for improved photo and video quality, which you can easily share with a voice command. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 Platform, these glasses offer faster processing and come with a sleek charging case with extended battery life up to 36 hours.

It is water-resistant (IPX4), has an improved touchpad, and allows livestreaming to Facebook or Instagram with real-time comments.

AI updates

Soon, you will be able to send and receive direct messages, photos, audio calls, and video calls from Instagram hands-free on the glasses. This joins being able to make calls and send messages through WhatsApp and Messenger, as well as the native messaging app on iPhone or Android phones.

It will also get access to music apps such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Shazam. Soon, you can ask Meta AI to play music anywhere as long as your default language is set to English.

Pricing and availability

The Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are priced starting at Rs. 29,900 and goes up to Rs. 35,700 depending on the model such as Wayfarer in shiny and matte black and plus Skyler in Shiny Chalky Grey.

You can now order the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses from Ray-Ban.com, and it will roll out from May 19th online and through leading optical and sunglass stores across the country.
