Samsung India has announced the rollout of Digital Car Key compatibility for Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs through Samsung Wallet, allowing Galaxy users to access their vehicles directly from their smartphones. Mahindra Group is the first Indian original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to integrate the Digital Car Key feature with Samsung Wallet.
Digital vehicle access
The Digital Car Key allows users to lock, unlock, and start their Mahindra eSUVs using a Galaxy smartphone. Users can also share the digital key with other individuals for a limited period and manage or revoke access as required.
Security and authentication
If a smartphone with a Digital Car Key is misplaced or stolen, users can remotely lock the device or delete stored data, including the key, using the Samsung Find service. The feature supports biometric or PIN-based authentication, ensuring controlled and secure access to the vehicle.
Samsung Wallet platform
Samsung Wallet enables Galaxy users to store and manage digital keys, payment methods, identification cards, and passes within one secure application. It is protected by Samsung Knox’s defense-grade security and integrates with Galaxy devices to maintain consistency and data protection across the ecosystem.
Availability
The Digital Car Key feature for Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs, including the XEV 9e and BE 6, will roll out soon in India, with support for other models expected later.
