Qualcomm showcases Edge AI, 6G, and Developer Upskilling at IMC 2025


At India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025, Qualcomm India unveiled a range of technologies supporting the nation’s digital transformation. Showcasing Edge AI, 6G, smart retail, connected homes, and compute innovation, the company emphasized its commitment to scalable, secure, and India-first solutions through Personal AI, Physical AI, and Industrial AI, targeting consumer, enterprise, and infrastructure applications.

Supporting India’s Technology Evolution

Qualcomm India has actively contributed to the country’s technology journey, from 3G to 5G, and is preparing for 6G through early-stage research and collaborations. Its Make in India initiatives include local R&D investments, strategic partnerships, and skills development programs, supporting India’s goal of becoming a global innovation hub.

Edge AI and Developer Enablement

At the event, Qualcomm highlighted how Edge AI and 5G together form the foundation for India’s digital future. Key demonstrations included:

  • Real-time, low-latency AI for smartphones, industrial handhelds, surveillance, and VSaaS analytics.
  • Agentic AI and intelligent wearables—including watches, earbuds, smart glasses, and connected vehicles—enabling multimodal, context-aware experiences across devices.
Partner Announcements and Ecosystem Expansion

Qualcomm India announced new collaborations reflecting its developer-first and Make in India focus:

  • Coredge: Integration of Qualcomm® Cloud AI 100 Ultra Cards with the AI Inference Suite enables enterprises and governments to securely perform advanced AI inference at the edge or in sovereign clouds. Applications include BFSI, manufacturing, retail, and public services, supporting faster, data-secure decision-making.

  • Lloyd (Havells Group): Connected air conditioners powered by the Qualcomm® QCC743 platform featuring Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and Thread/Zigbee. The solution demonstrates interoperable and energy-efficient smart appliances aligned with India’s smart home ecosystem.

  • Ideaforge: Drones powered by Qualcomm® QRB5165 SoC featuring autonomous navigation, GPS-denied flight, multi-camera SLAM, object tracking, and 5G connectivity for defense, agriculture, industrial, and smart city use cases.

Qualcomm AI Upskilling Program: Technical Foundation

To strengthen India’s AI talent pipeline, Qualcomm India launched the AI Upskilling Program, aimed at students, developers, and professionals. The program includes:

  1. AI & ML Fundamentals – covering deep learning, neural networks, big data, and model training.
  2. Edge AI Fundamentals & Features – exploring cloud, edge, and on-device AI.
  3. Introduction to Generative AI – for text, image, speech, and video applications.
  4. Qualcomm® AI Fundamentals – showing how Qualcomm products integrate AI for efficiency.
  5. Getting Started with Qualcomm® AI Hub – enabling developers to build on-device AI applications via a free, accessible platform.

The initiative aims to expand adoption of on-device AI solutions and familiarize developers with the Qualcomm AI ecosystem.
