vivo just introduced the vivo Y500 smartphone in China, as it had promised. The phone packs a 6.77-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display and has an 8MP camera inside the punch-hole.
It packs a 50MP rear camera along with a 2MP secondary camera and a 32MP front camera. The phone packs a huge, 8200mAh ultra-thin blue ocean battery with an ultra-high energy density of 847Wh/L, it has support for 90W fast charging and reverse wired charging.
Utilizing semi-solid-state battery technology, it boasts 16.7 hours of continuous video playback at -20°C, 13 hours of continuous live streaming at 35°C, and 22 hours of outdoor battery life at 40°C.
The phone features a 360° wall-penetrating antenna, boosting signal strength by up to 255% compared to the previous generation. It also supports AI-powered network selection, predicting weak network conditions like elevators and basements and preemptively switching to the optimal network channel.
The vivo Y500 boasts vivo’s most advanced P69+ waterproofing yet, passing a 1.5-meter depth, 24-hour immersion test and boasting triple IP69 water resistance. This includes motherboard-level waterproofing, as well as internal waterproofing.
The new phone utilizes a new Diamond Rock architecture, certified by SGS Gold Label Five-Star Drop and Fall Resistance and undergoing five rigorous environmental tests. Compared to the previous generation, the phone’s micro-drop resistance is 47% higher, its compression and bending resistance is 100% higher, and its height drop resistance is 70% higher. Motherboard-level shock absorption ensures internal drop resistance.
