vivo Y500 with 8200mAh battery, IP69+ ratings to be announced on September 1


vivo has confirmed the launch Y500 smartphone in China on September 1st as the successor to last year’s Y300. The company has confirmed 8200mAh compared to 6500mAh in the predecessor, which the company says is vivo’s longest-lasting battery life yet.

vivo has also confirmed IP69+/IP69/IP68 waterproofing, which the company says is the most powerful waterproof protection in vivo’s history. vivo has also confirmed SGS Gold Label five-star drop and impact resistance certification, and military-standard environmental testing.

The phone has achieved multiple breakthroughs in vivo history, the company added. The teaser image shows a familiar punch-hole screen, dual rear cameras with ring LED flash, Black, Blue and Violet colours.

According to leaker Digital Chat Station, the phone will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor compared to Dimensity 6300 in the predecessor. It is said to retain FHD+ 120Hz OLED screen, 50MP rear camera along with a secondary camera and a 8MP front camera.
