Microsoft Surface Laptop 5G with Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processors announced


Microsoft has introduced the Surface Laptop 5G with for businesses, after it was teased earlier this year. It is powered by Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processors has an integrated 5G modem and includes both NanoSIM and eSIM options.

Microsoft says that it has a dynamic antenna system that continuously adapts to its environment. “With six strategically placed antennas, the device automatically adjusts signal paths and power based on how it’s being held or used, ensuring strong, reliable connectivity exactly when and where it’s needed,” the company added.

It can also act as a mobile hotspot that lets you share the 5G connection with other devices. The laptop has similar features as the Surface Laptop 7 including a 13.8-inch (2304 x 1536 pixels) 120Hz refresh rate touch screen, HDR, Dolby Vision IQ, and Adaptive Color Technology.

The device offers 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5x RAM for memory, and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB removable Gen 4 SSD for storage.  The device includes a Full HD Surface Studio Camera with AI-powered effects, AI-enhanced sound with Omnisonic Speakers and Dolby Atmos, improved typing with optimized key travel, and a large precision haptic touchpad.

This also has GNSS L1, GPS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS and NAVIC support, 2 X USB-C with USB4 / Thunderbolt 4 ports with support up for up to 2 x 4K monitor, USB-A 3.1, 3.5 mm headphone jack and Surface Connect port.

Pricing and availability

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 5G comes in Silver colour and is priced starting at USD 1,799.99 (Rs. 1,55,485 approx.) for the Intel Core Ultra 5, 16GB RAM, 256GB storage version, and goes up to USD 2,699.99 (Rs. 2,33,210 approx.) for the Core Ultra 7 processor, 32GB RAM, 1TB storage version.

It will be available for purchase starting August 26th, 2025 for businesses through a broad network of partners, including Verizon Business, with selected Verizon stores rolling out in the coming months.
