HUAWEI has expanded its audio lineup in India with the launch of the FreeClip open-ear earbuds, first introduced in 2023. HUAWEI claims FreeClip introduce a left-right agnostic open-ear format.
The clip design consists of three parts: the Comfort Bean for an ergonomic fit, the Acoustic Ball shaped like the cavum concha for comfort, and a C-bridge with adaptive sensor control and nine structural wires. The rounded styling and ambient-aware acoustics make them suitable for regular wear in varied environments.
The earbuds weigh 5.6g each and are IP54 rated. Powered by a 10.8mm dual-magnet driver, audio benefits from boosted bass, with background noise reduced through DNN-based multi-microphone input. The earbuds support SBC, AAC, and L2HC codecs.
Each earbud delivers 8 hours of playback; with the charging case, total usage reaches 32 hours. The charging case houses a 510mAh battery, with a full charge taking 40 minutes and a 10-minute fast charge providing 3 hours of listening. Battery life further improves when using single-earbud mode.
Other key features include customizable gesture controls and head movement controls that let users manage calls by nodding or shaking their head. The earbuds also support dual-device connectivity.
