Lumio Arc 5 and Arc 7 projectors with Google TV, up to a 100-inch projection launched

Lumio that launched its smart TVs recently, has announced its entry into the Indian home projector market with the launch of Lumio Arc 5 and Arc 7 projectors in India, after teasers.

Lumio’s research indicates a substantial gap in the Indian projector market, particularly within the Rs. 20,000–50,000 price range. Consumers often face a dilemma: either opt for low-end models under Rs. 12,000 with limited features and performance, or invest in high-end, more expensive alternatives. Key issues identified with existing projectors include challenging user experiences, poor compatibility with popular over-the-top (OTT) applications like Netflix and Prime Video, inadequate audio quality, and a lack of reliable after-sales support. Lumio states the Arc series is designed to address these specific pain points.

Lumio Arc projectors

The Lumio Arc series aims to establish a new standard for mid-range projectors by integrating advanced technology with user-centric design. Both models incorporate Lumio’s Arclight Engine, which provides Full HD 1080p visuals with HDR10 support, designed for vibrant colors and sharp details.

The Arclight Engine is described as fully sealed and precision-aligned, a design intended to prevent dust accumulation, a common issue in conventional projectors that can lead to hazy projections. The engine is also designed for quiet operation through optimized airflow.

For ease of setup, the Arc 5 and Arc 7 include Smooth Trapezoidal Recalibration (STR8), offering auto-keystone correction (±30° vertical, ±25° horizontal), obstacle avoidance, and instant autofocus using a Time-of-Flight (TOF) sensor. This is intended to facilitate a “plug-in and play” experience.

Both projectors are powered by an MTK 9630 processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB storage, and run Google TV, providing access to over 400,000 movies and shows across 10,000+ applications, including Netflix. The “Under-Stand” feature is also integrated to allow for elevated projection in various home settings.

Lumio Arc 5

This model offers 200 ANSI lumens, suitable for viewing in dimly lit environments, with a projection capability of up to 100 inches. Weighing 1.33 kg, the Arc 5 is presented as a portable option for various settings. It includes 5W speakers with dual passive radiators for enhanced bass and supports Dolby Audio. It is Google TV and Netflix certified.

Lumio Arc 7

The Arc 7 features 400 ANSI lumens, designed for improved clarity even in rooms with ambient light, and also offers up to a 100-inch projection. It is equipped with 2x8W stereo speakers and a larger passive radiator for a more expansive sound experience, with Dolby Audio support. This model is positioned as suitable for living rooms and bedrooms, also Google TV and Netflix certified.

Connectivity and Additional Features

Both Arc series models provide a range of connectivity options, including HDMI 2.0 (HDMI ARC-enabled), USB 2.0, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 5 (Dual Band), and a 3.5mm audio jack. The accompanying Minion Noir Remote features Google Assistant and dedicated buttons for Netflix, YouTube, and TLDR.

TLDR App

The TLDR app aims to simplify content access for sports and music enthusiasts. TLDR Sports offers live match updates, schedules, highlights, and analysis for Cricket and Football, with plans to expand to other sports. TLDR Music provides curated playlists, trending releases, and integration with YouTube Music.
