OnePlus Nord 5 camera specs confirmed ahead of launch

After confirming the launch of OnePlus Nord 5 smartphone on July 8th. OnePlus today confirmed the camera specifications of the phone. It will come with notable improvements in performance and imaging capabilities compared to the Nord 4.

It features a dual 50MP Ultra-Clear camera system on both the front and rear. The rear camera incorporates the LYT-700 sensor, a component previously featured in the OnePlus 13R and the OnePlus 13s, aimed at bringing flagship-level imaging to the Nord lineup.

This system leverages the OnePlus 13’s HDR algorithm to enhance color reproduction and detail, particularly in low-light conditions, said the company.   The device is also stated to improve portrait and group photography with natural skin tones and reduced noise, and it has a 8MP 116° ultra-wide lens.

For the front camera, the Nord 5 utilizes a 50MP JN5 sensor, which is described as typically found in premium flagship devices. This front camera also includes hardware multi-focusing (autofocus) for clarity in various lighting conditions.

The Nord 5 introduces an upgraded LivePhoto functionality with Ultra HDR support, capturing 3-second motion shots. This feature records 1.5 seconds before and after the shutter press, rendering the cover photo in Ultra HDR quality. Additionally, the OnePlus Nord 5 supports 4K video recording at 60fps for both its front and rear cameras.

OnePlus already confirmed that the Nord 5 will be powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile Platform, come with LPDDR5X RAM, and feature 7300 mm² VC cooling area and flagship-grade graphene thermals identical to OnePlus 13, delivering 1,800W/m-K efficiency.

It will support Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) at a native 90fps, and with frame interpolation boosting performance up to a 144fps and runs Call of Duty Mobile natively at 144fps.

We should know more details about the phone in the coming days before the phone goes official in a couple of weeks.

As usual, the OnePlus Nord 5 will be sold on Amazon.in, in addition to OnePlus India online store and offline stores after the launch.
