Google is all set to introduce the Pixel 10 series phones, including the Pixel 10 Pro fold soon. We have seen the CAD-based renders and some specifications. Now a new report says that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold could be one of the first phones to come with IP68 dust and water resistant ratings for a foldable.
First foldable with IP68 Ratings?
The vivo X Fold5 that will be introduced later this week will be the first to come with IPX8 (3-meter deep water) + IPX9 (high temperature and high pressure) + IPX9+ (underwater folding), and IP5X dustproof folding screen.
Even though this might not be the first with IPX8 ratings, this could be the first with IP6X dustproof ratings. However, there are reports that say that the Galaxy Z Fold7 that will be introduced on July 9th could be the first foldable with IP68 ratings.
To remind you, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold has IPX8 ratings for water resistance.
Slimmer hinge
The report also says that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will feature a slimmer hinge for a more comfortable feel in the hand, making it tinner overall. This is also expected to get a slightly bigger 6.4-inch outer screen.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is said to use the 1/1.95″ Samsung GN8 50MP camera sensor, same as the Pixel 10, compared to a 48MP 1/2″ Sony IMX787 sensor, while retaining a similar 12MP ultra-wide camera and the 11MP front camera from the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Google is expected to announce the Pixel 10 series at its “Made by Google” event on August 20, 2025, with pre-orders starting the same day and shipping slated for August 28.
