Qualcomm and Xiaomi are marking 15 years of collaboration, a partnership that has now been solidified with a new multi-year agreement. This long-standing relationship has been instrumental in technological advancements within the industry, with both companies reaffirming their commitment to developing and delivering products across various global device categories.
Sustained Collaboration and Innovation
The newly signed multi-year agreement between Qualcomm Technologies and Xiaomi primarily focuses on innovation in the premium smartphone segment globally. Under this agreement, Xiaomi’s high-end smartphones will continue to feature Snapdragon 8-series processors for upcoming product generations, with sales expected to increase annually in both China and international markets.
Xiaomi is also set to be among the first companies to integrate the next-generation premium Snapdragon 8-series later this year.
Qualcomm has scheduled Snapdragon Summit 2025 for September 23rd to 25th, a month ahead of usual schedule where it is expected to introduce the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, and Xiaomi 16 series is expected to use the chip first when it launches sometime in late September.
Looking ahead, the companies aim to broaden their collaborative efforts to advance technologies such as on-device AI across a wide range of edge devices. This includes smartphones, automotive systems, AR/VR glasses, wearables, and tablets.
A 15-Year Retrospective
The collaboration between Qualcomm Technologies and Xiaomi has seen Snapdragon platforms power a significant number of Xiaomi products over the past 15 years.
