Airtel addresses service disruption in parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala

Bharti Airtel subscribers in several areas of Tamil Nadu and Kerala experienced a network outage last evening, affecting mobile voice services. The disruption, which began on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 evening, impacted users in various locations, including major cities like Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, and parts of Kerala.

During the outage, customers reported difficulties in making and receiving voice calls. While mobile data services appeared to be less affected for some users, the inability to utilize voice communication caused considerable inconvenience.

The disruption led to expressions of frustration among subscribers, with many taking to social media platforms to report the issues and the impact on their daily activities, including digital transactions.

In response to the service disruption, Airtel issued a statement acknowledging the situation. “Last evening, we encountered a network outage in few areas of Tamil Nadu and Kerala,” the statement read. “Our team worked diligently overnight to resolve the issue. Our services have been fully restored.”

The company also extended an apology to its customers for the inconvenience caused and thanked them for their patience and understanding during the period of disruption. However, it did not reveal the reason for the outage.

According to user reports and monitoring platforms, the network issues were primarily observed starting in the evening and continued for several hours before services were gradually restored overnight. By the morning of Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Airtel reported that services were fully operational again in the affected regions.
