Google Find My Device rebranded to Find Hub

Android’s Find My Device network, a long-standing tool for locating personal items, is evolving into “Find Hub.” This development aims to simplify the process of locating belongings, as well as staying connected with family and friends, through an expanding network of partners.

The transition to Find Hub is set to introduce more personalized options for tracking various items. Collaborations with luggage brands like July and Mokobara will offer integrated finding capabilities.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Peak integration will assist in locating equipment such as skis. Additionally, Pixbee will offer Disney-themed Bluetooth tags, adding a thematic element to tracking.

Later this month, Find Hub will enhance nearby finding with the introduction of ultra-wideband (UWB) technology. This feature, initially available on the moto tag, is expected to provide more precise location data for nearby items.

Looking ahead, Find Hub plans to integrate satellite connectivity later this year. This feature is intended to improve safety by allowing users to connect with friends and family even in areas without cellular service.

Travel is also an area of focus for Find Hub. Early next year, partnerships are expected to enable users to share the location of their Bluetooth tags with select airlines, potentially streamlining the process of recovering lost luggage.
