Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, the company’s next FE series smartphone, might shift from Exynos to MediaTek processor for the first time, according to the latest report from Notebookcheck.
The phone will use a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC, instead of the Exynos 2400e chipset which was used in the Galaxy S24 FE, says the report. This is said to be a back-up plan if it can’t produce enough Exynos processors in time for the launch.
The Exynos 2400e is also said to power the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, a cheaper flip option to the Z Flip 7, which could be the reason for Samsung opting for a MediaTek chip instead. Samsung had already used the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC in its Galaxy Tab S10 series.
The Exynos 2400e is clocked at 3.1GHz compared to Exynos 2400 with a clock speed of 3.2GHz, and other features are similar. According to benchmarks, the Dimensity 9400 offers better performance compared to Exynos 2400 and the Exynos 2400e, so it should be way better than the Galaxy S24 FE if this news is true.
The Galaxy S25 FE is said to retain similar cameras, screen, and battery from the Galaxy S24 FE. We should know more details in the coming months, since the Galaxy S25 FE is expected only at the end of 2025.
