Google Pixel 8a launched in India starting at Rs. 52,999


Google just launched the Pixel 8a, the company’s latest Pixel smartphone, in India, ahead of the Google I/O next week. The phone comes with a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, up to 2000 nits peak brightness, 40% brighter than Pixel 7a.

It is powered by Google Tensor G3 SoC, and has Titan M2 security chip. The phone runs Android 14, and will receive seven years of software support, including security updates and Android OS upgrades, said the company.

The phone gets Super Res Zoom up to 8x and features like Magic Eraser, Night Sight, Photo Unblur, Best Take, and Circle to Search.

The Pixel 8a comes in two new A-series colors: the limited edition Aloe, Bay, as well as the classic Obsidian and Porcelain options. The phone features a refined and premium design with rounded edges, a matte back and a polished aluminum frame, said Google.

The Pixel 8a retains the 64MP rear camera, OIS along with a 13MP ultra-wide secondary camera, and an 13-megapixel camera on the front, with 4K video recording for both front and rear cameras

The phone retains IP67 ratings for dust and water resistance, gets a new 256GB storage option, and packs a 4492mAh battery slightly bigger than the 4385mAh battery compared to 7a, and retains support for 18W fast charging and also supports wireless charging.

The Google Pixel 8a is priced at Rs. 52,999 (MRP) for the 128GB version and the 256GB version costs Rs. 59,999 (MRP). It is now available to order in India from Flipkart, with sales commencing at 6:30 AM IST on 14th May 2024.
