Apple Pencil Pro with new squeeze gesture, haptic feedback, Find My launched

At its iPad event, Apple introduced the Pencil Pro, the company’s latest stylus for its iPads. The new pencil brings advanced features like squeeze, barrel roll, and haptic, making it a perfect companion for casual and creative users.

Apple has integrated a new sensor in the barrel that can sense a user’s squeeze. By squeezing, users can quickly switch tools, line weights, and colors. There’s also a haptic engine that confirms your action when users squeeze or double-tap.

Further, the addition of a gyroscope allows users to roll the Pencil Pro for precise control in changing the orientation of the shaped pen and brush tools, just like pen and paper. There’s also a hover functionality that lets you preview exactly where your Apple Pencil will touch down on your display.

As we have seen with many styluses, this also offers double-tap functionality that lets users quickly switch between tools like pen and eraser. Additionally, Apple has added the Find My app feature, letting users easily find misplaced Pencil Pro.

It weighs around 20g, relies on Bluetooth for connectivity, and magnetically attaches to the iPad for pairing and charging purposes.

The Apple Pencil Pro is compatible with iPad Pro 13″ (M4), iPad Pro 11″ (M4), iPad Air 13″ (M2), and iPad Air 11″ (M2) running iPadOS 17.5 or later.

Pricing and Availability

The Apple Pencil Pro is available in the US for USD 129. In India, it is priced at Rs. 11,900 and can be purchased from Apple online and offline stores.
