Xiaomi 12T Pro Daniel Arsham Limited Edition announced

Xiaomi has partnered with Daniel Arsham, New York based artist to introduce Xiaomi 12T Pro Daniel Arsham Edition. This iconic design is a collision of the past, present and future within a contemporary artifact, said the company.

The artist has experimented with creating the textures of his sculptural propositions of obsolescence and natural erosions on a smartphone.

Xiaomi said that this collaboration is driven by Xiaomi’s core values of innovation, design and production, and shaped by Daniel Arsham’s zeitgeist in a vision of fictional archaeology.

Regarding the design, Xiaomi said:

Creating and exploring new perspectives from one’s relationship with their most personal and engaging contemporary device of daily use, a timeless object of fictional archaeology outside of a museum or gallery is conceived, from the sculptural box over to the tactical and physical feel of the Xiaomi piece itself.

It also comes in a unique box, which is what you would imagine a sculpture would, according to Daniel Arsham. Its weight, each surface, every detail, on the in- and outside the box was created to stand the test of time, said the artist.

It also has a custom-made gyroscopic wallpaper that continues Arsham’s theme of erosion. Crystals, volcanic ash and selenite bronze that move when the phone moves. Each tilt allowing more glimpses at marks of time. It is rounded off by a full set of app filters.
