Pixel Buds Pro update finally brings 5-band EQ


Google introduced the Pixel Buds Pro back in May, and it was launched in India in July, and the same month the company confirmed that the ear buds will get an EQ slider this year. APK teardown of the Pixel Buds app revealed multiple references to the equalizer feature.

Now, the company has confirmed that it is rolling out an update for the Pixel Buds Pro that will add 5-band EQ.

There will be sliders for five different frequency bands, and 6 presets tuned by Google’s audio engineers. Once the preferred EQ settings are set in the Pixel Buds app, they will be implemented on the Pixel Buds Pro no matter which device (i.e laptop, phone, watch, etc.) you are listening from, said Google.

In addition, the update bring controls for the left/right balance and general bug fixes and improvements.

The Pixel Buds app need to be updated to version 1.0.474476083 (or newer) to get the Pixel Buds Pro firmware version 3.14 that will roll out over the next week gradually
