Spotify launches individual buttons for premium subscribers

Spotify is completely classifying its play and shuffle buttons, albeit only for paid subscribers. The company announced today that it is beginning to roll out specific buttons for the two activities, which will replace the combined play/shuffle button that is currently located at the top of music tracks and artist pages.

With this new change, you’ll be able to listen how you wish by selecting your preferred mode at the top of playlists and albums. Spotify has you covered, whether you enjoy the thrill of the unexpected with Shuffle mode or want to listen to music in order by simply tapping the Play button.

There isn’t a week that goes by that Spotify doesn’t provide a new feature for its users. The frequently introduced new features are intended to keep subscribers loyal and convert free users into paying ones. Also, the music streaming service reported growth in both paid and free consumers back in April. To recall, recently, the firm rolled out Netflix Hub and also started testing NFT galleries on the artist pages.

The update is expected to arrive for iOS and Android devices for premium users in the coming weeks for Spotify Premium users worldwide.

Introducing the feature, Spotify wrote on its blog, that,

Music—and how you listen to it—should be yours to control. So from the moment you hit play on Spotify, you decide the way you want to hear your favorite playlists or that new album you’re obsessed with. So to make that choice even clearer and simpler, we’re improving the listener experience and separating the Shuffle and Play Buttons for Spotify Premium users.
