realme narzo 50 5G Unboxing and First Impressions


realme launched the realme narzo 50 series of 5G smartphones in India this week. This incldues the narzo 50 5G as the successor to last year’s narzo 30 5G, which has seen a decent upgrade when it comes to SoC and charging. We got hold of the phone, and here is our unboxing.

The realme narzo 50 5G has a 6.6-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with a pixel resolution of 2408 × 1080 pixels 2.5D curved glass screen with gentle rounded corners. The display is bright, and the sunlight legibility is good as well, thanks to 600 nits peak brightness. It has 90Hz refresh rate.

It has the notch that houses an 8-megapixel camera. The earpiece is present on the top edge and doubles up as a secondary speaker. Powered by Dimensity 810 6nm SoC with up to 8GB of RAM, this is a considerable upgrade from the Dimensity 700 in the predecessor. It also has Dynamic RAM Expansion (DRE) technology, which can add up to 5GB to the existing 6GB RAM.

Coming to the button placements, the power button is present on the right side that doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. The hybrid dual SIM slot is on the left, along with the volume rockers. The 3.5 mm audio jack, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is on the top. Audio from the speaker is good. The phone doesn’t have Dolby Atmos, which is present in the Pro version.

Coming to the camera, the phone has a 48-megapixel main camera with f/1.79 aperture and there is a secondary 2-megapixel B&W depth sensor. It supports up to 1080p 30 fps video recording. Check out some camera samples below.

Coming to the design, the phone has a kevlar design on the back with a gradient finish.  The phone is 8.1mm thin, and weighs 190 grams since it packs a 5000mAh battery. The phone has support for 33W fast charging that can charge up to 50% in 31 minutes.

Priced starting at Rs. 15,999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version, the phone will be available from realme.com, Amazon.in and offline stores starting from May 24th.
