OnwardMobility says it is not dead; BlackBerry 5G Android smartphone with physical keyboard to launch soon

Back in 2020 OnwardMobility signed an agreement with BlackBerry and FIH Mobile Limited, a subsidiary of Foxconn, to sell new smartphones starting with a 5G BlackBerry Android smartphone with a physical keyboard in 2021. However, this did not  happen. When everyone thought that the company is dead, OnwardMobility has announced that it is still planning to launch its smartphone soon.

In a statement on its website, OnwardMobility said:

While we encountered various delays that prevented us from shipping in 2021, we will be providing more regular updates starting this month that will clarify and answer many of your questions about the ultra-secure 5G enterprise smartphone (still with a keyboard!) we’re bringing to market.

All of us at OnwardMobility are incredibly grateful for the community of loyal users for this opportunity. To the media: we’ll be ready to deliver news and speak with you soon and we look forward to it.

We sincerely apologize for our silence and truly appreciate your patience.

This comes after Executive Chairman and CEO of BlackBerry Limited, John Chen on January 4th, 2022 officially announced that it is End of Life (EOL) for BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10 phones.
