ASUS ZenFone 9 with 50MP + 12MP rear cameras and ASUS ROG Phone 6 design hinted in Android 12 firmware

ASUS rolled out Android 12 stable update for the Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip smartphones last week. Now update has revealed a new hidden setting for the double-tap back gesture that is available on Pixel phones. In addition, it also shows a new phone design with dual rear cameras and number 9 that hints at the design of the ASUS Zenfone 9.

When zooming, the image shows a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 12MP ultra wide-angle camera. To remind you, the Zenfone 8 also comes with dual rear cameras, but this has a 64MP camera with Sony IMX686 sensor, OIS and 12MP ultra-wide camera with IMX363 sensor.

In addition, the design of the AUS ROG Phone 6 have also been hinted since it has 06 text on the back. This doesn’t have any camera specs, but the design looks similar to the older model with triple rear cameras, but this seems to include the flash inside the camera part. The image also shows a familiar PMOLED display that is already present in the ROG Phone 5 Pro and ROG Phone 5 Ultimate models.

We might have to wait for a few months to see the phones, since the Zenfone 5 was introduced in March and Zenfone 8 was introduced in May last year.
