LG introduces world’s biggest 97-inch 4K OLED TV, smallest 42-inch C2 4K OLED TV, new 86-inch 8K QNED Mini LED TV and more


At the CES 2022 today, LG introduced its new OLED and QNED Mini LED lineup. This includes the world’s biggest 97-inch OLED model in the LG’s 2022 G2 series and the world’s smallest 42-inch OLED TV. There is also LG Signature OLED R series. The  LG’s 2022 G2 series feature attractive flush-to-the-wall Gallery Design.

The C2 series feature thinner bezels for a more immersive viewing experience, in addition to giving the TV a sleeker design. The Brightness Booster technology in the LG OLED G2 series offer even more brightness through improved heat dissipation and a more advanced algorithm.

The LG OLED Z2, OLED G2, OLED C2, QNED Mini LED QNED99 and QNED Mini LED QNED95 models are powered by the new α 9 Gen 5 processor with deep learning to enhance upscaling performance and offer LG’s AI Sound Pro feature that lets built-in speakers to produce virtual 7.1.2 surround sound.

LG said that the OLED models are the first OLED TV that are NVIDIA G-SYNC compatible and first 8K OLED TV to demonstrate 8K gaming with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards.

webOS 22

The new webOS 22 brings personal profiles with option to select prefered streaming services, get content recommendations based on viewing history and receive real time alerts to keep up with favorite sports teams. Logging into profiles can be performed either from the TV browser or from a smartphone with NFC Magic Tap that can also be used to mirror a mobile device screen to an LG TV.  Viewers can also mirror content from one TV to another in the home using Room To Room Share, which enables the viewing of cable or satellite content on another TV via Wi-Fi without an additional set-top-box.

The new 2022 models offer an Always Ready option that turns an LG TV into a media display when not in use.  Always Ready is activated with a press of the power button on the LG Remote to transform the screen into a digital canvas for showcasing artwork, keeping track of time or playing music.

LG said that the panels found in the 2022 OLED lineups have been certified by global product testing agency Intertek for 100 percent color fidelity and 100% color volume. These OLEDs are also certified flicker-free by both TÜV Rheinland and Underwriters Laboratories, and glare-free by UL. The models have also been recognized by TÜV Rheinland for their low blue light performance and are the first in the world that meet the low blue light emission requirement of Eyesafe, a U.S.-based health standards agency. These also come with Filmmaker Mode when streaming content on Amazon Prime Video.

LG QNED Mini LED

The new QNED TV lineup for 2022 offers stellar color reproduction with 100% color volume, LG’s Precision Dimming Technology, and all models starting from the QNED90eries are certified for 100% color consistency, so viewers see the same, high quality image every time, even at different viewing angles.

LG has not announced the pricing for the new models, but it will showcase them at the CES at Las Vegas from January 5th to 8th.
