HUAWEI P50 Pocket with 6.9-inch FHD+ 120 Hz foldable screen, 1.04-inch external screen, hyperspectral camera announced


HUAWEI just announced the P50 Pocket, the company’s first foldable flip phone at an event in China, as it had promised. It features a 6.9-inch foldable flexible screen with 21: 9 screen ratio, 1.07 billion colors and P3 wide color gamut. It offers  up to 120 Hz screen refresh rate, and the company says that it sues innovative nano-optical film and the screen is not reflectivity to let you see clearly. The screen also supports 1440 Hz high frequency PWM dimming.

There is a small 1.04-inch AMOLED external screen  hat lets you check text messages, schedules, and other information. You can also answer calls, take quick selfies, and perform various operations such as music control and walk navigation with one touch.

It comes in Obsidian Black colour with a  shiny mirror texture, White with premium shimmer on micro glass and has a 3D micro-sculpture design.  The HUAWEI P50 Pocket Premium Edition, in collaboration with Haute Couture designer Iris Van Herpen, features organically flowing patterns in a stunning gold tone.

The multi-dimensional hinge reinforced with innovative materials that folds to fit seamlessly, and unfolds without any sign of creasing, instantly transforming from pocket size to top-of-the-line full-screen smartphone, says HUAWEI.

In addition to 40MP main camera and a 13MP ultra-wide camera on the back, the phone has a 32 MP Ultra Spectrum Camera, a 10-Channel Multi-Spectrum Sensor, an Ultra Spectrum illuminator and an AF Laser.  This lets you capture the beauty in the dark and can illuminate the vibrancy and sharpness in any shot with Ultra Spectrum Camera Matrix, says HUAWEI.

The Ultra Spectrum camera also offers Sunscreen Detection, a feature is able to check whether your face is properly covered up to help you better protect your skin. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 888 4G with up to 12GB of RAM. It packs a 4000mAh battery with 40 W Huawei Super Fast charging.

The Huawei P50 Pocket is priced at 8,988 yuan (US$ 1410 / Rs. 1,06,200 approx.) for the standard 8GB + 256GB model in Black and White colours and the P50 Pocket Premium Edition 12GB + 512GB model in Gold costs 10,988 yuan (US$ 1,725 / Rs. 1,29,830 approx.). It will go on sale in China starting today.
