Apple said to hold October launch event for new MacBook Pro models with M1X

During their September launch event, Apple announced a bunch of new products such as the iPhone 13 series, a new Watch Series 7 and more. Now, Apple is reportedly preparing for another event in October where the company will launch updated models of the MacBook Pro, featuring a new M1X SoC inside.

The news comes from Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, who writes about the launch event in his latest edition of his Power On newsletter. According to him, Apple should launch the new MacBook Pro models in the coming weeks.

About the new M1X processor inside these upcoming MacBook Pros, he said:

The Apple M1X chip, the likely name for a more graphics-intense and professional-focused M1 chip, is indeed still on tap for 2021. We’ll likely see it show up first in a new range of MacBook Pros in the next month and a higher-end Mac mini at some point. The M1X has been developed in two variations: both with 10 CPU cores (eight high-performance and two high-efficiency) and either 16 or 32 graphics cores.

Earlier rumours about MacBook M1X suggest that there are two new models in the works – a 14-inch and a 16-inch model. It is said to feature an updated industrial design, more ports such as HDMI and SD card, and will have a Mini-LED display similar to the latest 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
