Sony WF-1000XM4 truly wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation to be announced on June 9


After a lot of rumours, Sony has confirmed the announcement of Sony WF-1000XM4, the company’s next-generation truly wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation on June 9. The company doesn’t reveal the exact name, but the company says it is a Sony announcement for music lovers along with the caption “Truly Silent. Tailored 4 you.” and #YourSoundNothingElse tag.

Based on recent rumours, the successor of the 2019 WF-1000XM3 has a more compact design, will feature new active noise-cancelling (ANC) processor Sony V1 processor, LDAC and Hi-Res audio support. It will be IPX4 certified making it splash resistant. With Precise Voice Pickup technology, it will offer the best voice quality and customize it via its Headphones Connect app.

It is said to support up to 8 hours of playtime with ANC on, up to 12 hours with ANC off, and an additional 16 hours with the charging case with the ANC on for a total of 24 hours with ANC and 36 hours without ANC. It will also support fast charging that promises 60 minutes of playback with a 5-minute charge and the case with Qi wireless charging.

This is said to be priced at €279.90 (US$ 341 / Rs. 25,035 approx.) in Europe. The Sony event is set for June 9th 1AM Japan time (9:30 PM IST on June 8th), and it will offer a live stream for the event on its YouTube channel.
