realme 8 5G 4GB + 64GB version launched in India for Rs. 13999, available from May 18


realme launched the realme 8 5G, a mid-range 5G smartphone in India starting at Rs. 14,999 for the 4GB RAM with 128GB storage version last month. Today it has launched even cheaper 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version priced at Rs. 13,999 making it the most affordable 5G smartphone in the country till date. The phone comes in Supersonic Blue and Supersonic Black colours will be available from Flipkart, realme.com and offline stores from May 18th.

To remind you, the phone has a 6.5-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate, 90.5% screen-to-body ratio, 16-megapixel camera inside the punch-hole, is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC with support for 5G SA/NSA and Android 11 with realme UI 2.0.

It features a 48-megapixel rear camera along with an 2-megapixel B&W camera and a 2-megapixel 4cm macro camera. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

The new version comes ahead of the launch of POCO M3 Pro 5G which will directly compete with the realme 8 5G, and it is expected to be powered by Dimensity 700, but it will likely come with 6GB RAM, so it should be priced more than the realme 8 5G.
