Moto G60 Unboxing and First Impressions

After launching a lot of budget phones in the G series, Motorola today launched the Moto G60 and G40 Fusion two new mid-range phones with 120Hz refresh rate HD+ screen, 6000mAh battery, and Snapdragon 732G SoC with support for up to 6GB of RAM in India. Here we have the unboxing and first impressions of the Moto G60.

Box Contents

  • Moto G60 6GB + 128GB in Dynamic Gray colour
  • Clear protective case
  • USB Type-C cable
  • 20W Charging adapter
  • SIM ejector tool
  • Warranty card and user manual

The front side is occupied by a huge 6.8-inch FHD+ MaxVision LCD screen that is bright and has 120Hz refresh rate, which you can set it to auto or force 120Hz always which the company says will consume more battery. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 732G Mobile Platform  with support for 6GB of RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage.

There is a 32MP front camera inside the small punch-hole. The phone also has the usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors, and also has a tiny LED flash for the selfie. It runs stock Android 11 which provides near-stock Android experience with an ad-free, bloatware-free experience as well as new Android 11 like Chat Bubbles, Smart Device Controls, Categorized Notifications and more. Motorola says that the phone has ThinkShield for mobile, a proprietary technology giving four-layers of security.

The right side has a dedicated Google Assistant key, Volume rockers, and a power/lock button, while the left has just the Hybrid SIM slot. Under the device, we have a primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill. On top, we have 3.5mm audio jack and the secondary microphone. The phone has mono speakers, which sounds decent.

The fingerprint sensor is present on the back with the Motorola logo embedded in it. The phone has 108MP triple camera setup with ultra pixel technology, night vision mode and more. It has an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens that can also act as a macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. It has Spot color, Night vision, Cinemagraph, Pro mode more features. Check out some camera samples below.

The plastic back has a smooth finish, but attracts fingerprints easily. The phone also comes in Frosted Champagne colour, in addition to Dynamic Gray that we have, so the other colour shouldn’t attract fingerprints as this one. It doesn’t have IP ratings for dust and water resistance, but the phone is Water-repellent. The build quality of the phone is decent for the price, but it is heavy at 225 grams. It also has NFC support and packs a 6000mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging.

Priced at Rs. 17,999 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version and will be available from Flipkart starting from April 27th. The G40 Fusion replaces the 108MP camera with a 64MP camera and the 32MP front camera with a 16MP camera, so it is cheaper at Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version and the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs Rs. 15,999. It will be available from Flipkart starting from May 1st. Full review of the phone will be up soon.
