The Mi A3 has a 6.08-inch (1560 x 720 pixels) HD+ 19.5:9 aspect ratio

The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is easy to hold for single-handed usage, but

The phone has a Dot Notch display, and there is a 32-megapixel camera inside the notch. The usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors are present on the bezel along with the notification LED in the top left corner, which is hardly visible when it’s off. This glows only in white color.

Even though the phone has on-screen buttons and support for gestures, there is a small bezel below the screen, which is smaller than the A2, but it is slightly bigger than some smartphones in the range. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 665 11nm SoC with up to 6GB LPPDR4X RAM and has up to 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage. The phone also has 7th generation in-display fingerprint scanner same as the K20 series. It is good, and is slightly faster than the K20 series, but not as a fast as the rear mounted fingerprint sensor on the Mi A2.

The power button and the volume rockers are present on the right side, Hybrid SIM slot is present on the left that accepts two nano SIM cards or a nano SIM and a microSD card up to 256GB. On the bottom there is a speaker grill, USB Type-C Port and the primary microphone. On the top there is a secondary microphone, 3.5mm audio jack and an Infrared sensor.

The phone has triple rear cameras that includes a 48MP primary rear camera with 1/2.0″ Sony IMX586 sensor, 0.8μm pixel size, f/1.79 aperture, LED flash, EIS, 8MP 118° ultra-wide angle lens with 1.12μm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture and 2MP depth sensor with 1.75μm pixel size and f/2.4 aperture. There is a considerable camera bump due to the large sensor, and the company said that the camera part also has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection to prevent scratches.

The phone has a 3D glass back with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. You can see the Xiaomi and Android One branding on the back.

The reflects light and shifts its color as it turns back offering a holographic pattern at certain angles. Under the hood there is a 4030mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging using a 18W fast charger, even though it comes with 10W charger in the box.
