EMUI 9.1 released for HUAWEI Mate 20 Series, to be available for other devices soon


HUAWEI unveiled EMUI 9.1 alongside the P30 Pro earlier this year. The update was slated to be released this week and as promised, the company has released EMUI 9.1 for HUAWEI Mate 20 Series which includes Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, and PorscheDesign Mate 20 RS.

EMUI 9.1 is an upgrade to EMUI 9.0 and comes with a host of new additions and improvements. It now comes with a new file system called EROFS with improved file compression and 20 percent higher read performance. The GPU Turbo is now upgraded to 3.0 and improves performance and is optimized for a more stable gaming experience. Other new features include “moon mode” for the Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 X, “incoming call video show”, improvements to PC continuity and more.

HUAWEI Mate 20 Series users can sign up for the EMUI 9.1 update through HiCare app->Update->Download and the company also warns users that some third-party apps are incompatible with Android 9.0 and may not work properly after the upgrade.

Apart from this, the timeline for EMUI 9.1 update for other devices has also been revealed. The following devices are expected to receive the update starting July and August 2019 but there might be a change in the timeline too.
