HMD Global appoints Florian Seiche as CEO

HMD Global CEO Florian Seiche

Back in July HMD Global CEO Nummela left the company through mutual agreement between him and the HMD Global Board of Directors and  Florian Seiche was appointed as acting CEO. Today HMD global has appointed Florian Seiche as the permanent CEO of the company. He will also join HMD Global Board immediately.

Pekka Rantala who joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer last year has been appointed as Executive Vice President in addition to his current role.

Commenting on the appointments, Sam Chin, Chairman of the Board, HMD Global Oy said:

Florian has been co-leading HMD Global as President since the start of the company. He is the best choice to be the CEO as he has been instrumental in leading our global operations and taking our first products to over 80 markets in the last few months. We are now entering an exciting growth phase and are delighted to have Florian to lead the team.

I am excited to announce Pekka as the Executive Vice President for HMD Global. Pekka has been leading the rejuvenation of the Nokia brand in mobile phones. Now, while continuing on that mission, he will in addition actively support Florian and chart out the next phase of growth for HMD Global.
