Samsung was rumored to be working on the rugged version of Galaxy S8 dubbed as Galaxy S8 Active. Now, the phone has been certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The Galaxy S8 Active has a model number of SM-G892A.
The phone is expected to sport a 5.8-inch flat AMOLED display instead of the gorgeous infinity display on the S8. As this is a rugged device, the phone will have a larger battery that the Galaxy S8. Running Android 7.0 Nougat, it will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 Soc and come with 4GB of RAM. The handset will be built to the MIL-STD-810G for extra durability. It will also come with IP68 dust-and-water resistance certification. The predecessor Galaxy S7 Active was AT&T exclusive and so will be the S8 Active. The FCC image shows AT&T logo at the lower back of the phone.
