Google recently announced new ‘In Apps’ search mode for Android that lets you quickly find content from installed apps. This was first introduced in the LG V20 that was unveiled earlier this month. Now the feature is available in the latest version (6.5) of Google (Beta) for Android.

You can add ‘In Apps’ shortcut to the homescreen from the Settings, going to In Apps and then pressing the add button next to ‘Add to home screen?’.

‘In Apps’ feature works even when you’re not connected to WiFi or cellular data so that you can search contacts and other offline content. Only you can see your personal results, and you can control what apps appear by going to Settings within the Google app.

‘In Apps’ is also available in the search box. When you scroll to the right of the search modes, you can find a new In Apps tab. Google has also renamed Now Cards to Feed and Now on Tap has been renamed to Screen search.
