Microsoft offers Surface subscription under new ‘Surface as a Service’

Microsoft has introduced a new Surface subscription offering which is dubbed as Surface as a Service. Under this initiative, the company will offer a faster upgrade cycle, more flexible purchasing options, among others.

Microsoft says that customers of this scheme will have access to the latest hardware and faster device refresh cycles. The subscription service will be made available to Cloud Solution Providers who are also Surface Authorized Distributors.

Microsoft has expanded its Surface Multi-National Purchasing Program with the addition of CDW, Insight, SHI, and Zones — these resellers can now offer their enterprise customers Surface devices and accessories. Microsoft has announced new partnerships with IBM and Booz Allen Hamilton, who will now become Surface solution integrators. 

Brian Hall, General Manager, Microsoft Devices Marketing said in a blog post,

IBM will draw on its analytics and enterprise applications expertise to create new industry-specific solutions for financial services and consumer packaged goods(CPG)/retail companies that take advantage of the unique capabilities of Surface devices.
