LeEco Le 1s Eco

This week kicked off with a big event in Mumbai by LeEco, where the company made couple of announcements – a new ‘Made for India’ Le 1s Eco smartphone and its ecosystem-based membership program.

The Leeco Le 1s Eco is essentially the same Le 1s smartphone that was launched earlier in the country, except this packs an under-clocked 1.8GHz Helio X10 processor. It comes at an introductory price of Rs. 9,999 for the first flash sale, and this includes LeEco’s Supertainment package worth Rs. 4,900. From 2nd sale onward, the smartphone will be priced at Rs 10,899.

Coming to LeEco’s Supertainment package, it includes exclusive Live and Le Vidi content in partnership with Eros Now and YuppTV.  Live and Le Vidi will also be available to all LeEco smartphone user through OTA (Over the Air) upgrade within May and the Le Music and LeEco Drive will be available in Q3.

LeEco membership for other LeEco smartphone users costs Rs. 490 a month or Rs. 4,900 a year, and any person who buys a year content membership will get a hardware price deduction of Rs 4,000 on their next purchase, said company during the launch.

LeEco LeMe Bluetooth headphones

Alongside, LeEco quietly started selling new accessories – Leme Bluetooth Headphones, All-Metal Earphones and Reverse In-Ear Headphones on its LeMall online store in India. The LeMe Bluetooth headphones, All-Metal Earphones and Reverse In-Ear Headphones are priced at Rs. 2,499, 1,499 and 899, respectively and are available from in.lemall.com/in. The company plans to bring Bluetooth speakers and PowerBanks soon.

Ultimate Ears – a brand of Logitech – launched UE BOOM 2, successor of the UE BOOM in India. UE BOOM 2 is 25% louder with a longer wireless range of 100-feet, has a completely waterproof design, promises 15-hours of battery life and has a new and innovative tap control that allows you to skip songs, without needing to have your phone in-hand.

The Ultimate Ears UE BOOM 2 Bluetooth speaker comes in Cherrybomb, Phantom, GreenMachine, Tropical and BrainFreeze colors and is priced at Rs. 15,995.

Coolpad launched its Note 3 Plus smartphone in India exclusively on Amazon.in, as expected. It packs a 5.5-inch Full HD display, compared to HD screen on the Coolpad Note 3. Other specifications remain the same, including a Octa-Core 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 processor, Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Cool UI, 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

It also has a fingerprint sensor on the back, comes with dual-SIM support and has 4G connectivity with support for LTE bands (TDD B40 2300MHz and FDD B3 1800MHz) for India. The Coolpad Note 3 Plus comes in Champange White and Gold colors and is priced at Rs. 8,999. It will be exclusively available from Amazon.in starting May 13th via open sale.

Micromax launched Canvas Lapbook L1160 with quad-core Intel Atom processor and Windows 10, in partnership with Intel and Microsoft. It has a 11.6-inch (1366 x 768 pixels) display and it is the company’s second laptop, after the Canvas Lapbook L1161 that was launched back in October last year. It doesn’t have built-in 3G SIM support like the previous Lapbook.

It weighs just 1.13kgs, but the battery has been reduced from 5000mAh in the Lapbook L1161 to 4100mAh. The Micromax Canvas Lapbook L1160, comes in black color, is priced at Rs. 10499 and is available exclusively from Amazon.in.

The company also launched Canvas Mega 2, successor of last year’s Canvas Mega smartphone. It has a 6-inch qHD screen, is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support and 4G connectivity.

The Micromax Canvas Mega 2 comes in black color and is priced at Rs. 7,999.

Sony launched SRS-XB3 EXTRA BASS Portable Bluetooth speaker in India. It has a new 1.89″ large full-range speaker unit with a powerful embedded magnet and long stroke to reproduce deep bass. It is splash proof and the lithium ion battery promises battery life of up to 24 hours of continuous payback time and can also been used as a power bank.

The Sony SRS-XB3  comes in Black, Blue and Red, is priced at Rs. 9,990 (MOP) and the MRP is Rs. 12,990.

Seagate launched Backup Plus Ultra Slim, the world’s thinnest 2TB mobile hard drive. It is also available in 1TB version and also includes 200GB of Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage and Lyve software compatibility that lets users back up, access and share their files from any device or location.

It is just 9.6mm and uses Seagate’s latest 2.5-inch HDD technology, making it more than 50% thinner than other 2TB drives. It has USB 3.0 and promises transfer speed of up to 120 MB/s. The Seagate Backup Plus Ultra Slim 1TB and 2TB HDDs come in gold and platinum colors and are priced at Rs. 5699 and Rs. 8399, respectively. These are available exclusively from Amazon.in.

Reliance launched LYF Water 5, the company’s latest 4G smartphone with VoLTE in the LYF series. It has a 5-inch HD screen with ASAHI Dragontrail glass protection, is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC, runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop), has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Reliance LYF Water 5 comes in Black color, is priced at Rs. 11,699 and is exclusively available from Amazon.in.

Intex launched Aqua Lions 3G the company’s Lions series smartphone targeted at IPL fans. It comes loaded with the Gujarat Lions Official App for live updates on IPL. It has a 5-inch HD IPS display, is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support with 3G connectivity.

The Intex Aqua Lions 3G comes in White, Grey and Champagne colors with a leather-like back and is priced at Rs. 4990.

Weekly Announcements

HTC announced Desire 830, the company’s latest smartphone in its 800 series in Taiwan, along with the Desire 825 that was announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 in Barcelona earlier this year. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display, is powered by a 1.5GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6753T SoC and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with HTC Sense 7 UI on top.

HTC Desire 830

It comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and an UltraPixel front-facing camera. It has 4G LTE connectivity, dual speakers, BoomSound and Dolby audio. It is expected to come with dual SIM support in some markets. It is 7.79mm thick and weighs 156g. The HTC Desire 830 comes in White with Orange and White with Blue colors, is priced at NT$ 9,990 (US$ 310 / Rs. 20,615 approx.) and will be available in Taiwan from May 6th. No word on the global roll out yet.

Huawei announced G9 Lite and M2 7.0, two new devices in China. The G9 Lite packs a  5.2-inch 1080p display with 76.4% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by an Octa-Core Kirin 650 16nm SoC or Snapragon 617 SoC depending on carrier variant, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with EMUI 4.1 on top.

Huawei G9 Lite

The Huawei M2 7.0 tablet has a 7-inch 1080p display, is powered by a Snapdragon processor, has 3GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, has a fingerprint sensor on the right side into the home button and packs a 4,360mAh battery.The Huawei G9 Lite comes in White, Gold and black colors and is priced at  1,599 yuan (US$ 245 / Rs. 16390 approx.) and 1,699 yuan (US$ 261 / Rs. 17,415 approx.) for different variants. The Huawei M2 7.0 comes in white, pink and blue colors, is priced at 1599 yuan (US$ 245 / Rs. 16,380 approx.)  for the 16GB version and 1799 yuan (US$ 276 / Rs. 18,440 approx.) for the 32GB version.

Ulefone introduced Future, the company’s latest 4G smartphone with 5.5-inch 1080p curved screen display with no bezels on the sides. It is powered by a Octa-Core 64-bit MediaTek Helio P10 processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), has a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a fingerprint sensor on the side that can unlock the phone in under 0.5 seconds.

Ulefone Future

The Ulefone Future comes in Space Gray and Golden colors and is priced at $239.99 (Rs. 15,980 approx.) for a limited period.

Garmin announced vivomove, its new analog watch that has activity tracking to monitor steps, distance, calories burnt, sleep and also reminds users when they’ve been inactive too long with its move bar. It promises one-year battery life and has a water rating of 5ATM (50 meters).

The Garmin vivomove comes in sport (black or white) variant for $149.99 (Rs. 9,980 approx.), classic black or rose gold variants with leather band for $199.99 (Rs. 13,310 approx.), and premium stainless steel or gold-tone steel with leather band for $299.99 (Rs. 19,960 approx.).

HP launched x360 Pavilion convertible that sports a 15.6 inch display. It comes with edge to edge HD or FHD IPS displays with optional touch.The convertible is already available in 11.6 and 13.3 versions and they come with a full-size keyboard with an optional backlit keyboard. It has up to 16GB of memory and up to 512GB SSD with the option for hard drive storage up to 1TB.
