Waterproof Kindle Oasis expected to launch this week

Just last week, Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos revealed that the company will finally introduce the next-generation high-end Kindle eReader next week. Now, more information about the name and features of the e-reader have surfaced.

According to Amazon’s site in Japan, the new Kindle will be called as Kindle Oasis and it was listed on a page in Kindle accessory store. It must be noted that the Kindle Oasis listing was taken down at the time of writing this article. The listing also said that the device will be waterproof and come with support for stylus. The next-generation Kindle is rumored to sport a leather cover with extra battery and also with Bluetooth support.

Making the next gen Kindle waterproof would be a welcome move as other e-readers in the market like Nook GlowLight Plus and Kobo Au0ra H2O are already waterproof. We will know more details about the upcoming Kindle this week when it will go official. It will be successor to the Kindle Voyage that was introduced back in September 2014.
