Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 2 smartphone in China earlier this month. We managed to get one from China through ibuygou.com, here is the unboxing of the smartphone.

The Redmi Note 2 has a similar design as other Redmi smartphone with curved edges. It has a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with 178-degree wide viewing angle and is powered by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795) processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU. It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with OmniVision sensor and 720p video recording. Our unit was running on MIUI 6 based on Android 5.0 (Lollipop), but update to MIUI 7 will be available soon.
There is a 13-megapixel camera on the back with LED Flash, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), Samsung / OmniVision Sensor, 5p lens, f/2.2 aperture, 78-degree wide-angle lens and 1080p video recording. It also has an infrared sensor on the top. The removable back cover has a smooth finish. Under the back cover there are dual micro SIM card slots and a microSD card slot. It packs 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. We have the Redmi Note 2 with 16GB of internal storage, but the Redmi Note 2 Prime comes with 32GB of internal storage. We will bring you photo gallery, benchmarks and more soon.
