Google Messenger gets location sharing, stickers and more

Google Messenger 1.4 Location Sharing and Stickers

Google has updated its Messenger app for Android to version 1.4 that brings support for location sharing, stickers, and quick scrolling. The location sharing in attach dialog lets you easily share your location, and the recipient gets a small image of the map with the location and a link to Google Maps. It also has a link to the business or POI’s web page if there is one.

The Messenger app was launched by Google in November last year. Google Messenger v1.2 update in March brought animated GIF and support for widgets in the lockscreen and the homescreen back in March. Version 1.3 update in April brought quick reply feature to quickly respond to text messages without opening the Messenger app.

New features in Google Messenger for Android v1.4.044

  • Share your location with others using a Map
  • New sticker packs, including animated stickers
  • New scroll bar for a more precise and quicker scrolling

The new Google Messenger update is currently rolling out gradually through Google Play, but you can download the APK and side-load it manually.
