Archos is back in the smartphone race with a bang – that bang is the Full HD Archos Oxygen smartphone that boasts a stunning display without the hefty price tag and offers a lot of bang for your buck. The Oxygen is one of a total of 9 devices that Archos showed off at IFA, including the Archos Titanium and Platinum entry-level and mid-market range. These were announced ahead of IFA.

The Archos 50 Oxygen sports a 5 inch Full HD display sporting 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The display is provided by LG display and offers 441 ppi pixel density, the same as on the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Sony Xperia Z1. Powered by 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6589T processor, the Archos 50 Oxygen comes with 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.

On the back, the Archos 50 Oxygen comes with a 13 megapixel camera along with a 5 front facing shooter. The Archos 50 Oxygen is one of just a few devices, such as the Huawei Ascend P6 and Lenovo Vibe X to sport a front facing camera exceeding 4 megapixels and shows that Archos is willing to fight its rivals in all areas of the device.

The Archos 50 Oxygen runs on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system and comes with a 2,300 mAh integrated battery. Under the hood, you’ll find support for Wireless N, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and the GSM and WCDMA mobile networks.

Overall the Archos 50 Oxygen boasts impressive specs with the not-so-expensive price tag. It offers an excellent design and feel and will suit the people who want an inexpensive yet more than capable Full HD smartphone.
