OnePlus 6 rumor round-up: Specs, features, price, release date and more


OnePlus is all prepped to launch the next-gen flagship killer in a matter of few weeks. However, before the formal launch, most of the specifications including renders of the device has been leaked on the internet. While most of the details about the device are not authentic, we have jotted down the features that have been revealed so far.

OnePlus 6 WiFi Certification

Recent WiFi certification listing revealed that the phone would go with the name OnePlus 6 and has model number ONEPLUS A6003, after which OnePlus officially confirmed that name. In addition to the name, the certification confirms that the phone will run Android 8.1 (Oreo) with Oxygen OS 5.1.0 on top.

According to the rumors and speculation circulating around the Internet, the upcoming OnePlus flagship is said to feature the notch along with a 6.28-inch Full HD+ Optic AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. This, in turn, gives the device a 90% screen-to-body ratio for the more immersive visual experience. The OnePlus 6 will have a 19:9 aspect ratio to fit a notch on top where the front camera and other sensors will reside. The top-notch will measure exactly 19.62 x 7.69 mm.

Moreover, the OnePlus 6 is touted to be the fastest smartphone equipping the latest and powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with 8GB RAM under the hood. In an official teaser shared, the company is stressing more about the speed and performance of the phone and we know where it comes from — Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.

In a way of confirming the presence of the Snapdragon 845 chipset, the benchmark result of the purported OnePlus 6 also revealed with a score of 276510 beating the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s making it one of the fastest phone yet to be released in the global market. In addition to it, the images of the smartphone leaked online hinting at the glass black with the support for wireless charging as well.

Among the entire OnePlus portfolio, the 6th generation smartphone is rumored to be the first device to feature a glass back, but a recent image showed a wooden back so there might be several variants.

Talking about the optics, the company will most likely to retain to retain the dual camera setup for OnePlus 6 and it is most likely to come with 16MP + 20MP dual rear cameras setup and a 20MP front camera as well. Moving on, the OnePlus 6 is expected to come with 128GB and 256GB onboard storage, scrapping the 64GB version. Just like the OnePlus 5T, the 6th gen device is expected to have a fingerprint sensor on the rear just below the camera module.

As far as the pricing, the price of the OnePlus 6 is expected to be more expensive than the $499 OnePlus 5T base version. The phone is rumored to go on sale in China on May 5th, so it could be introduced sometime in late April or early May, 2018.
