Google and Verizon Readying iPad Rival

Lowell McAdam, the CEO of Verizon Wireless said on Tuesday that Google and Verizon are readying an iPad competitor to catch up on AT&T’s market share.

The relationship between Google and Verizon has grown since last year when Verizon heavily promoted the Motorola DROID that runs Google Android.

He said that they are looking at Google’s archives and searching for stuff they could put in the tablet. Google in turn has said that they are looking to create light-weight devices running their softwares.

He also said that Verizon Wireless has a lot of catching up to do since AT&T is already the carrier of the Amazon Kindle and the Apple iPad.
