Acer Iconia Tab 8 Hands On and Photo Gallery

Acer announced the Iconia Tab 8 earlier in May but we recently got our hands of it at the IFA, Berlin, 2014. Similar to other Acer tablets, this one is also equipped with zero gap technology. It measures 8.5 mm thick and weighs 360 grams.

The tablet is encompassed in an entire plastic body and features 8-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels) full HD display. It has a 16:10 aspect ratio and the Zero gap technology makes the brightness and contrast level pretty good on the tablet. It also has no gaps between the front panel and digitizer which results into a responsive tablet. At the front we have the 1MP front facing camera.

The power button and volume rockers are present on the right side.

At the bottom end back we have the loud speaker grill.

The top back panel is made of matte aluminum like finish and has a 5MP rear facing camera.

On the left we have the microSD card slot and and as the tablet does not support 3G or GSM capabilities a sim card slot is missing.

The Acer Iconia runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) and has 2GB RAM, 16GB /32GB internal storage and expandable memory with micro SD.The Acer Touch WakeApp let you quickly and easily wake up the Iconia Tab 8 with a simple touch gesture. It also lets Acer PCs through Build Your Own Cloud (BYOC) that enables users to build their own cloud on their devices. Acer promises up to 7.5 hours of battery life.

The Acer Iconia Tab 8 comes in White color and should go on sale in European markets starting mid-July starting from 199 Euros.
