LinkedIn India has 26 million users, 43% of traffic comes from mobile


With 26 million users, India has the second largest user base of LinkedIn behind the US. The largest professional social network said that India accounts for 8.6% of the global user base. In February, LinkedIn announced that it had 24 million users in India, which means the social network garnered about 2 million users in four months. The company also stated that more and more users are accessing the social network on their mobile.

43 per cent of our traffic today is through mobile devices. It is soon going to hit what we call mobile moment, where more than half of the traffic is going to come from the mobile devices very soon”

said G. Venkatasubramanian, LinkedIn Technology Centre, India-Head of Engineering.

He added that the percentage is expected to rise to 50% soon. In April, LinkedIn announced that it has over 300 million users, two third of which are out of the US. LinkedIn employs over 350 professionals in India, of which around 50 are engineers working on research and development (R&D) at the technology center in Bangalore. LinkedIn also has office in Mumbai, where most of its sales staff is based.

LinkedIn has introduced a filter for hiring in India which is called as the recruiter app that helps global firms to get specific information on India hiring. India is also the second largest country behind the US on Facebook with 100 million monthly active users.
