Micromax has launched the Canvas Nitro A310, the company’s latest smartphone in the Canvas series. It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It features a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has new camera features such as option to capture images, including selfies by pressing the volume rocker, a Camera Widget to access several camera features easily from the homescreen, Stable Shot, Refocus and more. Micromax has sent out press invites to launch a new smartphone on September in New Delhi. The event was supposed to happen on September 1st, but it got postponed. The invitation doesn’t reveal anything apart from the time, date and location, but the company today teased a new smartphone on their Facebook page back that reveal few details about the smartphone. It also says that it would launch exclusively on Snapdeal.

Micromax has started rolling out Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for Canvas 2 Colours A120 smartphone. It was launched back in April, running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), but the company promised KitKat update soon after the launch. Micromax has announced that it has started rolling out Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for the Canvas Doodle 3 A102 users. The Doodle 3 smartphone was launched back in April, running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Recently the company started selling the Canvas Doodle 3 running Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. Micromax Bolt A082, the latest smartphone in the Bolt series is now available from online retailer Snapdeal. It has dual front-facing speakers similar to the Micromax Canvas Fire series that went on sale recently. Micromax is the leading mobile phone vendor in India based on shipments, according to a report from CounterPoint Research. Last week’s Canalys report revealed that Motorola overtook Nokia to become the fourth largest smartphone vendor in India in Q2 2014.
