Meta records $117.9 billion revenue in 2021; 2.82 billion Family daily active people in December 2021

Meta has released their earnings report for the last quarter 2021, along with earnings for the entire 2021 fiscal year. The company recorded $117.9 billion revenue during 2021, which is a 37% YoY growth, and the net income was recorded at $39.37 billion, which is growth of 35% YoY. In Q4 2021, they recorded $33.67 billion in revenue, growing 20% YoY, while the net income was $10.2 billion, declining 8% YoY.

YouTube for Android gets a new fullscreen video player UI

YouTube has rolled out a new video player UI for its Android app that now lets you like, dislike, comment, add to playlist and share when you are watching a video in the full screen mode. The autoplay, casting and closed captions option on the top remain the same, but the three-dot overflow button has been replaced by a settings gear icon. Samsung once again posts all-time high revenue in Q4 2021 driven by strong sales of foldables, S series phones

Samsung has reported its earnings for Q4 2021 that ended December 31, 2021 in which the company posted 76.57 trillion won ($63.6 billion approx.) consolidated revenue, up 24.4% YoY which is the new high beating the previous record. This is due to finished product businesses, with expanded sales of premium smartphones, including foldable phones, as well as TVs and home appliances. WhatsApp adds Quick Replies shortcut, to add end-to-end encryption indicators

WhatsApp, a popular messaging app, is all set to bring a new Quick Replies shortcut for the WhatsApp Business app. To those unaware, the feature allows businesses to send frequently used text replies with the help of keyboard shortcuts without actually typing them. WhatsApp, with a recent WhatsApp Business app update, has added a new shortcut for the Quick Replies feature in the share menu.
